Gameplay[]

The game follows the major events from Marvel Comics 1963 "The Amazing Spider-Man" comic book series. Similar to the 2012 video game, The Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker's apartment serves as the main hub of the game, and missions can be accessed through Parker's computer. Extra unlockable content, options, and the ability to purchase additional characters are all found in Parker's bookshelf. The character creator can be accessed through Peter's wardrobe, where players can create their own character using parts from characters already unlocked, as well as a limited array of weapons.

An optional 2-player cooperative split screen play mode is also present, similar to Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. The game also features Story Swap mode, in which players can switch between two characters in different areas whose stories run simultaneously, similar to Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions offer 720p and 1080p displays.
